Throughout these hard times of economic uncertainty, Britons have had to give up a lot of luxuries just to stay afloat. They're taking more public transportation, eating at home more often, and--as of this month--giving up their pet ponies for adoption. The RSPCA has claimed that the number of abandoned ponies has risen by 57% since last year.
We feel absolutely terrible for these poor Britons who are having to give up their lovable ponies. Honestly, what kind of world are we living in where one can't enjoy the tender company of a pony in the privacy of their own home? This is absolutely ludicrous! What are we going to have to pony up next, our butlers? Or maids? Our--gasp!--chauffeurs? Is nothing sacred anymore?
