Apparently, a city famed for its poetry isn't gay enough for locals. A Canterbury gay activist group, Pride in Canterbury, launched a complaint stating that the city didn't do enough to support its LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community.
After months of deliberation, pouring through every detail, and thousands of pounds spent, council investigators have concluded that Canterbury is sufficiently homosexual.
They cited that Canterbury hosts many theatrical plays and musicals to support their case.
Rick Davies, spokesman for the council said: "We feel we do a great deal for the gay community in Canterbury...but at the same time it is not the duty of any council to set up a gay bar–that's not what councils do."
